Viola Fern Sherwood Landon

The family of Vi Landon sadly announces that she passed peacefully in Kelowna, B.C. on February 6th, 2020 at the age of 87. Vi was born Viola Fern Sherwood on September 22, 1932 in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, still the home of many family members. Her favorite song was ‘You are my Sunshine’ which totally reflected her happy, cheerful personality. Vi’s doors were always open and no one knocked. Everyone came right in knowing there was always coffee, coke and her special chocolate cake.

Vi spent her second childhood happily flitting between Edmonton and Mexico with her faithful companion Don Benson, both of them having the time of their lives. Vi was pre-deceased by her husband Ike Landon in 1964 and her son Ian in 1988. She will be greatly missed by Don, her children Joann Fennell (Rick), Darlene Heickel (Jerry), Margaret Rogalsky (Ed), Barbara Zeitner (Randy) and much loved grand-children Rhonda Villeneuve (Eric), Jeremy Landon (Jenn), Dustin Landon (Alison) and the joys of her life, her 6 great-grandchildren.

As Vi requested, no formal memorial services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society https://www.cancer.ca/en/?region=bc.
