Veronica Grace Burns passed away peacefully at the Penticton General Hospital on June 6, 2023, at the age of 75. Known to most as Bonnie, she will be remembered and sadly missed by her companion David Lowans and best friend Barbara Gillis. Proud mother of Darlene (Lee), Lorne (Chantale), and Tracey; grandmother/nanny to 7 grandchildren (Kurtis, Adam, Megan, Nathan, Nikki, Jodie, Corie) and 4 great grandchildren (Audrey, Zephyr, Hailey, Delilah); Survived by her siblings Norman (Jane) and Joyce, and sister-in-law Catherine. Predeceased by her loving husband Richard. Most knew mom as Bonnie. Those who knew her well, also saw the determined, somewhat stubborn, and independent woman that she was.
Living out her retirement years in Keremeos, Mom was an active member of the community participating in the town’s Garden Club, the Legion, and the Elks.
As per mom’s wishes, no service took place. She was cremated privately. Her ashes will remain in British Columbia alongside her husband Rick and their beloved Labrador retriever, Samson.
