Valerie Margaret Elizabeth (Krause) Swendseid

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Valerie Swendseid of West Kelowna, BC, formerly of Drayton Valley, AB announce her passing at the age of 73 years. She was born November 14, 1948 in Edmonton, AB and passed on January 21, 2022 in Kelowna, BC.

Val’s selfless devotion to caring for others will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 54 years, Dwayne Swendseid; children, Tony of Kelowna, BC, Lee and Mike (Steph) of Drayton Valley, AB; grandchildren, Lexie, Lacey, Cade, Oaklen and Bryden; brothers, Bob and Don (Kim); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends in Alberta and British Columbia.

Val was predeceased by her daughter, Alana Swendseid and her parents, Maxine and Walter Krause.

Val spent the majority of her wonderful life beside her husband, Dwayne in Drayton Valley before retiring to Kelowna where she continued living life the only way she knew how – with kindness, generosity and love for everyone.

Even in her last days in the hospital she wrote down what great care she was receiving by her doctor and nurses.

Val, always grateful, will be forever missed.
