Trevor McLeod Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Garth McLeod on December 20, 2021.  Trevor’s battle with cancer over the past three years was extremely difficult but he handled it with great courage and strength.  He was a hero who stayed strong until the end.  Trevor is now at rest in a place of comfort and peace.

Trevor was constantly inspiring us, showing us how determination and persistence can overcome.  He showed us the importance of living without fear and enjoying moments together with loved ones.

Trevor was born on September 29, 1964, in Estevan, Saskatchewan and spent his younger years growing up in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta, graduating from Paul Kane High School in St. Albert.  His career as a professional accountant took him to Guyana in South America, both Northern and Central Alberta, and British Columbia.  He eventually started his own accounting firm in West Kelowna.

Trevor’s ambition to educate himself, his knowledge of sports, his style of humour, and his ability to adapt were something to be admired.  Golf was his favorite sport and he spent much of his time on the course. Trevor was a gentleman golfer, and everyone enjoyed having him in their foursome.  He spoke highly of everyone he golfed with at Two Eagles and always took us for meals at his favorite restaurant – Nineteen.  His love of golf took him on many golf vacations in Alberta, BC,  and the U.S.A. These were some of his favorite trips.

Trevor is survived by his parents Lillian and Garth McLeod, his sister Heather McLeod (Dave Schafers), his daughter Natasha McLeod, Aunt Jane Lesiuk (Steve), Uncle Gordon McLeod (Sharon), and numerous cousins and friends.

A special heartfelt “Thanks” to Tom Kavanagh.  Tom’s unconditional friendship and support meant the world to Trevor and will not be forgotten.

We would also like to thank Dr. Ryan Bystrom, Dr. Gregory Dueck and staff at the B.C. Cancer Clinic in Kelowna and all of the staff at Kelowna Hospice House.

Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at a later date.

Please consider a donation to the Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior (B.C. Cancer Clinic – Kelowna).
