Ted Mandziak (Son of Henry & Lorraine Mandziak, and brother of Lori Mandziak).
It was with great shock and sadness to hear our son Ted passed away. He had a very short stay at Kelowna General Hospital. While there, he had a cardiac arrest. He was 48 years old. Enclosed are 4 pictures.
Ted always led a very active life. After he finished High school, he went on an adventure with a school buddy Jason Topham. They vacationed at Fiji, then Hawaii and on to a working holiday touring Australia. Ted finished off his holiday by snow skiing at Whistler before returning home. When he returned home, he took up truck driving as a career. He low bedded and logged for R&D Webber Logging for quite a number of years. He low bedded various equipment to the Kelowna wildfires in 2003. He also drove truck in the clean up of the Calgary floods. He got his helicopter pilot licence and heli, logged for awhile but decided that was not for him. He went to work in Alberta for awhile but did not like it there either. There were no mountains, or Okanagan Lake and he did not like the weather. He went on another vacation. He went to see some countries in Europe. He saw the usual tourist sights where he visited, but also got to snow ski in the Swiss Alps. He also got to see the pyramids in Egypt.
Other careers he enjoyed were landscaping and home renovations.
As you can see by the picture, Ted loved seafood and “Little Ma’s” cooking.
Ted accomplished so much in his life, it was hard to believe that he did all he did, but he did & more.
We will love you forever, remember you forever, and miss you forever. You will always be in our heart. Thank you for all the wonderful memories we have of you.
In lieu of flowers, you can donate to a charity of your choice. Due to covid-19, there will be no service at this time.
