Suzanne Clark Obituary

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 26, 1940 Suzy passed away peacefully on November 17th after a long illness.  In her final days she was surrounded by family, laughter and love.  She was predeceased by her parents George L. McMahon and Katharine L. McMahon and her partner Terry Tanner.  She is survived by her sisters; Polly (David) and Kathy, brothers; Pat, Bill and John (Joke), daughters; Tory and Katy (Terry, Ryan, Piper), step children; Caroline (Michael, Katherine, Alexander), Patrick (Sicily, Autumn, Esme) and Mary as well as many nieces and nephews.  Suzy was raised in Calgary and attended boarding school in Montreal where she made many lifelong friends.  She learned to play the piano beautifully and was an accomplished rider.  Suzy travelled extensively in Europe before moving to Vancouver to attend university.  She married in 1965 and started a family of her own.  Suzy had an amazing sense of humour and loved to laugh. Her smile could light up a room. She was a loving mother, a wonderful cook, and an active member of the community.  She was a tireless volunteer at school functions, charity events and a fundraiser for various organizations.  In later years she earned her Real Estate license and worked for many years in Vancouver before moving to the Okanagan in the late 90’s.  There were many organizations dear to her heart but none so important to her as the Peachland Rotary Club where she was a member for many years.  Suzy will be dearly missed.  The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at the Brookhaven Care Facility in West Kelowna for their kindness towards Suzy in the past three years.  They would also like to thank Carolle from Home Instead Seniors Care.  Carolle was a wonderful companion to Suzy especially in her final days.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Suzy’s name.  A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2019 in Calgary.
