Stan was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta and is survived by his brother Ed. Stan moved to Winfield, via Vancouver, in the early 70's. Stan began working at The Vernon Fruit Union (now BC Tree Fruits) in Winfield and remained there until his retirement just a few years ago. Stan was very well respected by his colleagues there.
Whether it was on the ball field (back in the day), at the curling club or on the golf course, you were guaranteed a laugh. Stan was quick witted and had a great sense of humour. If you ever got the opportunity to hear Stan sing about "The Girl On The Mountain" or "Havin' Me A Burger", you were lucky. Alternatively, Stan also had a calming influence that was always appreciated by his friends and teammates. Stan enjoyed sports, music, playing cards and travelling to warmer climates in the winter.
Bye for now Stan The Man, hope you're having a beer with Perry.
