Russell Grant Mercer

Russ Mercer passed away peacefully February 11, 2026 in Princeton, BC with his daughter by his side. He was born August 18, 1945, in Vancouver.

Russ loved to garden, cook and host. Animals and children always put a smile on his face. He was one big kid at heart and known for saying “age is only a number.” He owned and operated Kings Fare fish and chips with his business partner, Tommy for over 20 years. In his later years he cared for his mom exceptionally well, who he loved dearly, until she passed away at the age of 98. In 2021 Russ moved to Princeton to be close to his family. A city boy at heart, he embraced the small-town lifestyle, enjoying the people of Princeton and being a regular at Posse games.

Russ is survived by his children, Carly (Graham), Brodie and Jade; his grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, Cooper, Jesse, and Jordan; his brother, Bruce Mercer (Wendy). Russ is preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Herb Mercer.
