Roy Butterworth passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024, at the age of 92 years. He will be remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Doreen Butterworth; children, Shirley Butterworth, and Peter (Kath) Butterworth; grandchildren, Jenna and Kyle; and brother, Frank (Jean) Butterworth. He is predeceased by his parents, Jack and Minnie Butterworth, and brother, Ken Butterworth.

Roy will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a good athlete, first in soccer but also in golf and all racket sports and he loved frustrating younger players! He spent most of his career as a teacher and then principal at multiple elementary schools in Revelstoke where he remained until he retired. He loved teaching and being involved with youth so much that upon retiring to Peachland, BC, Roy continued to volunteer at Peachland Elementary.

In accordance with Roy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. We welcome you to share memories of Roy and condolences with the family on the Tribute Wall.
