It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of the sweetest man alive, Roger Fisher of Peachland, BC. Roger passed away peacefully in the early morning hours at his home in Peachland.
Roger was born in a bomb shelter in Croydon, England to Agnes (Simpson) and Martin Fisher. He was the youngest of three boys behind John (Glenda) and Jeff (Pat).
When Roger was 18, he immigrated to Canada and took a job with the Bank of Montreal where he worked for 40 years. In Williams Lake BC he met and married Judy (Webb). They spent 34 years together and had two daughters, Penny, and Jeanette (Barry) Pynn. They lived and travelled to many places until breast cancer took Judy in 1998.
Roger loved music, dancing, carpentry, and golf. And was a master gardener. He passed on his green thumb to his son Doug (Jackie), who Roger discovered in 2018 thanks to Ancestry DNA. Roger and Doug shared a special and close relationship and had planned a trip to New Zealand where Doug lives.
Roger was lucky to find love again with Sue (Lacombe). They shared life and travel for 25 years.
Roger was a proud Grampa (Papa) to Thomas Pynn (Danielle), Melanie Love and Riley Pynn (Lydia).
Roger is survived by his wife Sue, daughters, grandchildren, brother Jeff, Al & Irene of Ladysmith, and many friends.
Please join us in saying goodbye to Roger on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Hansons Arbor Westwood Chapel, 2541 Churchill Road, West Kelowna BC.
