Robert Ian Simpson

The family of Robert Ian Simpson is sad to announce his unexpected passing on June 11, 2022, in West Kelowna, BC at the age of 51.

Robert was born in Calgary, Alberta and lived most of his life in the Millet/Leduc/Wetaskiwin area. He was a trained cook who also spent many years working at oilfield pipe yards in Nisku and Millet. His favorite pastimes were sitting by a backyard campfire, listening to and collecting music, and barbequing.

Left to mourn Rob’s loss are Wendy, his wife of 27 years, and two children: Jonathan and Katherine. He is also survived by his parents, Ian and Sandra Simpson of Millet, Alberta, and two sisters: Lisa (Blair) Holtner of Victoria, BC, and Linda (Jeff) Schmidt of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, as well as many other family members and friends.

Cremation has taken place.

A drop in gathering in Rob’s memory will take place on Saturday June 25, 2022, from 2-7:00 P.M. at By the Lake Park Hall, 6128  56 Avenue, Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

Wendy would like to give special thanks to the West Kelowna first responders for their kind assistance.

Donations in Rob’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice or would be gratefully accepted to assist Jonathan and Katherine with their post-secondary student loans.

Rob was loved by his family and friends and will never be forgotten.
