It is with greatness sadness, that the family of Robert (Red) James Lawes announces his passing on December 23, 2023, at the age of 77.
Red was a cancer survivor for 8 years, with a new diagnosis in November and was taken quickly from us.
Red will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Carole; children Jamie, Alan (Tanya), and Murray; grandchildren, Amika, Sydney and Quinn; sister Betty Johnston (Roy deceased) and brother Steven (Shelagh) and many nieces and nephews.
Red was born in Princeton, living, and working here his entire life. Following 35+ years of working at the Weyerhaeuser Mill, Red enjoyed a long retirement. He filled his time gold panning and swimming in the Similkameen River, spending time with his grandkids and venturing south for multiple winters with Carole, family and friends. He will be remembered and missed for his commitment to family, love of the outdoors and his sarcastic witt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Princeton Legion on Jan. 20, 2024, at 1 PM.
