Reginald Green Obituary

In loving memory.

Reg was born in Fielding, New Brunswick, on October 6, 1940, the son of Reginald and Vida Green. He was joined by two younger siblings, Winston and Sandra.

Reg married his first wife, Shirley, in 1959 after meeting in Bible school. They had three children together, Kevin, Brian and Wanda. Reg and Shirley moved their family to Ontario in 1964. And then, in 1971, to British Columbia where Reg started with No. 1 Collision before joining Kenworth to work on the big rigs.

Reg met his second wife, Karin, in 1985 while they were both attending Simon Fraser University. They married in 1988 and Reg was welcomed into the family by his stepchildren Michele and Steven. Reg and Karin made a home in Port Coquitlam, where they started Encore Coachworks, an autobody repair and restoration business. Reg later became an instructor at Kwantlen College, sharing his knowledge and experience with a new generation.

Reg and Karin moved to Princeton in 2003 to be near the beautiful Similkameen River where they had enjoyed camping. There they began a new adventure, making many new friends over the years. Reg was proud to give driving tours of their many renovation projects.

The year 2016 brought more change. In February Reg was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and on October 17th Karin succumbed to heart disease. Although his mobility decreased over time, Reg was able to enjoy all but the last 10 months in his own home.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Guildford Hotel, 15269 104th Avenue, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his honor to the Okanagan Humane Society at https://okanaganhumanesociety.com.

We would like to thank Reg’s friends and neighbours, as well as the staff of Princeton & District Community Services, Interior Health Home Support in Princeton, and, most recently, Ridgewood Lodge, for their care and kindness to Reg during the last five years.
