Olive May Johnson

Our wise and beautiful mother, Olive May Johnson, left us to join her beloved wingman, her husband Bazil Gerald of nearly 65 years on January 1st, 2025. Dad preceded her in death in 2020. She leaves sorrowing and bereft her three children, Heather, Wade and Colleen. 

Mom was born in Birch River, Manitoba in 1937 to Moses and Blanche Crissler.  Although her family didn’t have much money, her childhood was a happy one and she brought that happiness to her own family.  She was predeceased by her parents, and her 8 siblings. She also leaves behind on this earthly plane her grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and a cat named Oliver.

We will love and miss her for all of our days.

Married from 1955 to 2020

Wing to wing we flew,

Through stormy skies and sunny blues.

Our years were filled with laughter and tears

But we stayed the course over the years.

Though now I fly alone, and my heart feels like stone.

I hold your memories close to me.

Deep within a place where only I can see.

My wingman remains forever in my heart.

Until the day from this world, I depart.

I shall remain forever your girl and you my fella

And although you are no longer by my side.

Within my heart you will always reside.

It is the early dawning of 2025, and I am no longer alive.

And so, my spirit reaches for the sky.

Joining my wingman who’s flying high.
