Octave (Lassie) Clayton LaChance
October 17, 1943 – April 24, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Lassie LaChance announce his passing on April 24, 2022 at the age of 78.
Lassie lived his life with great enthusiasm and had an amazing talent for being able to do anything he set his mind to. A Jack of All Trades, he set his mind to mastering his work and various hobbies. Whatever it was, you could be guaranteed that he would give 150% while readily sharing his wisdom with those around him. While most of his life he was employed in mining (Newmont & Kemess Mines), he also worked in the logging industry, owned a pet store and dabbled in satellite & radio systems.
Lassie’s children were the source of great pride for him. Left to honor his legacy are his children David (Sherry) LaChance of Edmonton, AB, Annette (Darrell) Hanna of Kamloops, BC and Debbie (Doug) Pearson of Hanna, AB. 5 grandchildren - Embersly, Katie, Niko (Madison), Michael (Melissa) and Tyler as well as his Lil’ Samich Grabber, great grandson Rhett.
There will be no service as was Lassie’s request. Instead please raise a glass, cast a line or tell a joke or two for that is how he would have liked to be remembered.
Frogger, we love you more than 10 billion salmon, and that is indeed a whole lot of fish.
