We are saddened to announce the passing of Norman Harry Heseltine, 88, on the early morning of April 26, 2022, at the Lakeview Lodge Care Community in West Kelowna, BC.
Norman, often called ‘Stormin Norman,’ was born in Elora, ON on March 28, 1934.
He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Ilene Williamson in 1976; his father, Harry Irwin Heseltine in 2005; his wife, Shirley Anne Phillips in 2013; as well as the son from his first marriage, Norman Gene Heseltine.
He is survived by his children, Sherrilee Dianne and her husband, Jerome Rejean Don-Paul; Scott Irwin Heseltine and his wife, Kimberly Mae; Don James; and Shawn Scott Heseltine; Norman’s brother, James Heseltine and his sister, Susan Bridgeman (nee Heseltine) and her husband, Robert.
He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Norman joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1952 at Hamilton, ON and trained in Cornwallis, ON. He picked up wounded soldiers from North Vietnam and took them to Hawaii for treatment, while serving on the Destroyer HMCS Sioux in late 1954. During the Cruiser HMCS Ontario’s refitting in Esquimalt, BC, Norman was the Admiral’s Driver. Norman retired from the Navy in 1956 at Victoria, BC as a Leading Seaman Quartermaster 1st Class (LSQM1).

A Celebration of Life was held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Hansons Westwood Chapel, 2541 Churchill Road, West Kelowna with interment of Norman's urn at Westbank Cemetery. To watch a recording of the service, please click the link below.
