It is our profound sorrow to share that Nicholas Gordon Charles Wizinsky, born February 10, 1961, has sadly ended his three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Nicholas, known to most as Nick or Coach Nick, is survived by his four children; Justin Martyn, Jennifer Granger (Kyle), Stephanie Wolf (Cullen) and Matthew Wizinsky; his six grandchildren, Landon, Griffin, Adriana, Mia, Greyson and Bohdan; and siblings, Brent Wizinsky, John Wizinsky, and Becky Reeve. Nick is predeceased by his parents, John and Shirley Wizinsky.
Nick was born in Trail, B.C. and his love for the Kootenays is well known through all of his friends and family. It was known, if you ever had to drive through Trail, you were expected to bring home some of his favorite meatballs from the Colander.
Nick had a strong passion for entrepreneurship, and always tried to find new ideas and businesses to help them with their start up. Nick was known to many as Coach Nick, where he spent a better part of his life coaching his own kids and kids throughout the community in West Kelowna for minor hockey.
Nick was a kind, loving, generous man who always wanted what was best for his family and community. He was especially proud to have been a part of the Mount Boucherie Expansion Society. Over the years, seeing West Kelowna become its own vibrant municipality was a source of joy for him.
The funeral for Nick will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in West Kelowna on Wednesday, July 12th, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. (please note: the time has been changed from 11:00 a.m.)
The family would like to thank the Hospice House and Interior Health for making sure his needs were met and that he was always comfortable.
