Nelline Marie (Schug) Shiels

With sadness we announce the passing of Nelline Marie Shiels. Nelline was born to Robert Joseph and Marie Mercedes Shiels on July 29, 1926, in Rosenheim, AB.

She was predeceased by her husband, Donald James Shiels; brothers, Raynold, Andrew, Frederick, Emile, and Rene; son, Robert; and grandson, Richard. Nelline is survived by her children, Claire, Carleton, Frank, Richard, Daniel, and Karen; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In 1943, the family moved to Keremeos and Nelline worked in housekeeping and in the local packing house. In 1948, she married Donald James Shiels, moving to Quesnel in 1958. She enjoyed music, dancing, reading, and especially visiting with family and friends. Nelline will be remembered for her involvement with the community and the church.

A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Keremeos on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
