It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Michele Dean Middleton-Currence, age 65, on December 29, 2020; mother, sister, aunty, nana, and a friend to many.
Left to mourn are her daughters Toby Grover (Cody) and children Ethan & Hanna, Tenille Janzen (Beau) and children Brady & Teagan; her sister, Bonnie Williams (Bruce); brother, Jeff Middleton (Marilyn), and Michele’s father, Jim Middleton. Michele was predeceased by her mother, Olga, and brothers, Tom (Margot) and Blaine (Gwen). There are numerous nieces and nephews left to mourn her passing.
There was never any doubt that Michele’s priorities were her grandchildren. She was their biggest and loudest supporter and she was so proud of all their accomplishments. Family was everything and she loved to have everyone around. Michele made some wonderful friends during her 25 years working at Walmart in Kelowna and West Kelowna. As a long time resident of the Kelowna area, Michele knew many people and always had time to say hello, which made simple outings an adventure! In her younger years, Michele took to coaching track and field and was very dedicated to being a substitute “mom” to a lot of people. She was an incredible person, and she will be dearly missed.
We wish to thank the nurses on 6W and ICU, as well as Dr. Ben Wierstra. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the West Kelowna Minor Hockey Association. They accept cheques to WKMHA (2760 Cameron Road West Kelowna, B.C.
