Michael Frederick Cadden Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Michael Frederick Cadden at the age of 73.

Mickey was known for his big smile. He loved playing cards, golfing, and enjoyed good western music. He was known for his kind spirit and quick wit. One could always rely on Mickey to have a backup plan.

Mickey was predeceased by his mother, Anne Shiro (Cadden), his father Patrick James Kelly Cadden, and two infant brothers, James Cadden and Donald James Cadden.

He is survived by his two sisters, Maureen Lynn Fitger of Surrey, BC, and Patti-Anne Hagen (Cadden) of Spruce Grove, Alberta; and his brother, Daniel James Patrick Kelly Cadden, also of Surrey, BC.

Mickey retired after working many years at Wilkinson Steel company, both in BC and Alberta. He also took on the role of Deputy Mayor for the District of Wood Buffalo in northern Alberta.  He was very community minded, fostered several teenage children, and was fond of dogs.

During his retirement several winters were spent as a snowbird travelling and cruising to warmer climates.

Born in Kamloops on March 22, 1950, he spent most of his working career in Alberta.  Mickey resided in Keremeos, BC for the past 7 years with his wife, Lorill Cadden.  He will be sorely missed by his family, many friends and large extended family.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
