Michael John Blackwell

We regretfully announce the passing of Michael John Blackwell (Mikey), age 79 of West Kelowna BC, on Oct. 07, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife Judy, 2 children, 4 grandchildren, a brother, and countless friends.

Mike was born in England on February 4, 1944, and at the age of 2, moved to Saskatoon, Sask. where he attended the University of Saskatoon and became a wonderful, award-winning teacher who inspired many for years, in both Rosetown, Saskatchewan and Wetaskiwin, Alberta.

He loved playing cards, as well as his music, and was forever with his friends taping the next greatest reel to reel. He had a great sense of humour and was loved by all.

We as a family are grateful to know that Mike is now pain-free and at peace with his Mother Gladys.

A celebration to honour his life will be held in the summer of 2024 in Red Deer Alberta.
