Maxwell Hailstones Obituary

Maxwell Hailstones passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021 two days shy of his 86th birthday. Max will be remembered and sadly missed by his children John (Cindy) of Kelowna, Graham (Lisa) of Surrey, and Lesley (Dave) of Vernon, grandchildren Max, Sheena, Dean, and Melissa, as well as great-grandchildren Terran, Rhett, and Ryley. He was sadly predeceased by his beloved wife Helen as well as sons Jim and Scott.

Max was born in Scotland but came to Canada in 1967. He lived and worked in Atikokan, Ontario until 1970 when he moved to Rutland, BC. And worked at Brenda Mines until he retired.

Max was an avid member of the Model Railroad Club, Peachland Museum, and the Peachland Legion. He was extremely talented with his hands building countless model ships, including many ships in bottles. One of his larger model ships still sits on display in the main entrance of the South Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna.

There will be a private family gathering at a later date. In lei of flowers please donate to the BC Cancer Society.
