Lynn Roberta Louise Roch passed away peacefully on November 27, 2021 at the age of 66 in Kelowna, BC, surrounded by her loving sisters after a courageous battle with ALS. Despite the pain and daily challenges faced, Lynn (also known as Lynner, Spin, Aunty Lynn, Mom, and Memere) stayed strong and made the most of every day until the very end.
Lynn was a dedicated mother first and foremost who loved to cook, bake and keep a tidy house. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Memere. She had a vivacious personality and cherished her time with her sisters, family and friends.
Photography, fashion and the arts also brought great joy to Lynn. She also enjoyed a quiet evening with friends and a glass of red wine in hand, settling into a good book, attending gala events (anything with wine in hand, really), and telling tall tales. Oh boy, Spin sure loved her tall tales. Her big, bright smile was contagious to everyone she met.
Lynn was raised in Somerset, MB with her four sisters, married young and started a family raising two sons in Lorette and Winnipeg, MB, eventually divorcing and moving to Edmonton, AB where she spent much of her life with her partner, Dale raising their daughter, Alix. Lynn worked many years in the hospitality industry as an owner and manager before following her passion working in the field of photography where she specialized in retouching photos by hand.
Lynn was born September 1, 1955 to Hilda and Armel Labossiere and had 4 siblings, Christine (Kam) Legros, Josie (Dennis) Meyer, Nicole (Dennis) Rondeau, and Karen (Troy) Martin-Labossiere. She is survived by her sons, Matt (Rhonder) Rock and Philly Roch, her daughter, Alix Au, and her grandchildren, Charlie Blue and Cooper Rock.
Her children will always be grateful for the loving care provided by Dale, Karen, Nicole, and Christine for the past 2 years and to the amazing homecare workers and staff at Hospice House in Kelowna.
