Louisa Saebels Obituary

In Loving Memory of Louisa (Nicole) Saebels

January 12, 1935 – February 27, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Louisa (Nicole) Saebels on February 27, 2025. Nicole was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eugene Saebels, who passed away in August 2017. Their enduring love and devotion remain an inspiration to all who knew them.

Nicole leaves behind a loving family who will miss her deeply. She is survived by her children: Monique Saebels, Corine Saebels, Yves Deboeck (Dominique Van Duuren), and Ron Saebels (Rommy VenHaus). As a devoted and cherished grandmother, Nicole’s legacy continues through her eleven grandchildren: Kayla Stromsten, Mitchell Stromsten (Shara Kashani), Jeff Jacobs (Tara Jacobs), Nicky Lajoie (Robert Lajoie), Chris Eskensen (Rebecca Dick), Michael Eskensen (Barbara Curtis), Veronique De Boeck-Massart (Georgy Massart), Valerie De Boeck, Shaylah Saebels, Donovan Venhaus (Amanda Venhaus), and Dustin Venhaus (Tess Venhaus).

Nicole was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Babcock, Adrianna Babcock, James Jacobs, Isiah Lajoie, Christian Lajoie, and Sawyer Eskensen, each of whom brought her great joy and pride.

Born in Belgium on January 12, 1935, Nicole’s life was one defined by kindness, warmth, and a genuine love for those around her. She had an extraordinary ability to make friends wherever she went, embracing many as if they were family. Her generous spirit and lively presence were well-known within her community. Nicole found great joy in her frequent visits to the legion halls in Kelowna and West Kelowna, as well as the Army and Navy in Rutland. It was there, often participating in the meat draws, that she shared laughter and companionship with her many dear friends.

Nicole’s warm smile, loving heart, and welcoming nature touched countless lives. Her memory will be lovingly cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A celebration of Nicole’s life will be held on April 26th at 3 pm at 228 Valley rd, Kelowna, where family and friends will come together to honour and remember a remarkable woman who brought so much light and joy into the world.

May she rest in peace, forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations for a park bench in Lousia's honour. Donations may be made at the Celebration of Life, or by contacting Monique for e-transfer.
