Our mother, Levina Kneller, left us on January 9, 2023, surrounded by her family in her home. She is survived by her sons, Dave (Terry), Dan (Carol) and daughter Donna, all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Herman, her Mother, Father and 3 siblings.
Mom was born in Coronation, Alberta on September 8, 1941. She came to Westbank in 1958 and worked in a restaurant where she met Herman. They were married on April 22, 1960 and had three adorable children together. After Herman was injured at work, mom’s focus was taking care of her husband. Mom worked at the Westbank Packing House, Berkner’s Egg Farm as well as other jobs. She was amazing at sewing and completed many upholstery projects. She put a tremendous effort into any project she chose to do, whether it was canning, crocheting, knitting, card making, painting, baking or whatever else came along.
She believed it was important to volunteer to give back to the community. She often took leadership roles in Minor Hockey, Girl Guides, the Westbank Cemetery, Westbank Senior’s Centre, and the Westbank Legion. Levina was a lifetime member of the Kelowna Calligraphy Guild.
Her love for playing cards and games was shared by many friends and family and was definitely passed on to her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for playing Bridge and took lessons to excel in it. Due to Covid and being isolated at home, mom focused her artistic endeavors by painting flowers on rocks and milk cans.
We would like to thank Dr. Obedkoff and the Palliative nurses who helped care for our mom.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Emmanuel Church, 2600 Hebert Road, West Kelowna, BC, V4T 2J6, on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation to the BC Lupus Society would be appreciated.
Her sense of humour and infectious laughter will be greatly missed.
