Kenneth Stowell Obituary

Kenneth Gordon Ulysis Stowell, born February 13th, 1934, deceased July 13th, 2020.

In loving memory of Kenneth (Ken) Stowell. Ken was born in Ponoka, Alberta and raised in Calgary. He attended Crescent Heights High School where he met and married the love of his life, Marlene Sears. In 1970 Ken and Marlene left Calgary and purchased the Willow Lodge Motel in Sicamous, B.C., where they enjoyed houseboating, lakes, fishing, camping, curling and snowmobiling. They were both members of the Eagle Valley Kinsmen & Kinette Clubs. Also, in between things, Ken trained and was on call as a First Responder.

In 1975 Ken and Marlene sold the motel and moved to Penticton where Ken worked for the R.C.M.P. and in his spare time coached at the Penticton Boxing Club, and of course Ken and Marlene continued to enjoy camping trips, fishing and travel. After retiring from the R.C.M.P. Ken and his youngest son, Christian, owned and operated Panaview Pipeline Inspection Services.

In 2008 Ken and Marlene moved from Penticton to West Kelowna. Ken and Marlene celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary, July 4th, 2013.
Ken’s talents, strengths, generosity and charm were most enviable. He enjoyed his daily walks, winter vacations in Kona, completing the crossword in the newspaper every single day, baking his own bread and muffins, which were often generously shared with neighbours, making his own preserves and pickles, and hosting and partaking of family dinners.

Ken was predeceased by Marlene, his youngest son, Christian, his parents, Devere & Blanche, his sister, Shirley. He is survived by his sister, Pat Tucker, sons Cliff (Judi), Kenny, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

As per Ken’s request there will be no formal funeral or Celebration of Life. That said, Ken had a favourite song, that no matter when or where, it played, he could not help but grab Marlene and dance it up, whilst singing along. David Houston ~ Livin’ in a House Full of Love. Enjoy!
