In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Father
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father on September 13, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service that will forever inspire us.
A Life of Service to Country and Family
Our father was an extraordinary man, excelling in multiple roles throughout his life. He proudly served in the Canadian armed forces and answered his country's call during the Korean War. On November 11, Remembrance Day, we will always salute him as "Pops" for his unwavering commitment to our nation.
A Guiding Light for Us All
Beyond his military service, our father was a devoted husband, a loving grandfather, a mentor, a teacher, a role model, and a provider for our entire family. Growing up without a father himself, he went above and beyond to ensure we had the right upbringing that would mold us into the people we are today.
He exemplified the values of respect, hard work, good manners, kindness, and love within the family setting, setting a high standard for all of us to follow.
Cherished Retirement and Family Time
After retiring from Calona Wines, he enjoyed a well-deserved retirement filled with relaxation, travel, golf, and quality time with our mother, us, his grandchildren, and friends. Father's Day weekend at the Ponderosa Golf Club in Peachland was a tradition we treasured. The family gathered for the men's open, and at least one of the Colbon sons always had the privilege of playing golf with 'Pops' on Father's Day Sunday, creating countless cherished memories.
A Remarkable Legacy
The legacy our father and mother have left behind is truly remarkable. Their love, values, and dedication to family have left an indelible mark on all of us.
