Joan Marie DeCook

It is with great sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Joan Marie DeCook, who after a courageous battle with severe COPD, went to be with the Lord on June 15th, 2024, at the age of 87.

Joan touched the lives of all those around her with her generous compassion and remarkable spirit.  She was particularly known for her witty sense of humour and infectious laugh.  Joan always managed to make a person feel good even when she herself did not.  Her love of nature and animals was exceptional, and she never tired of watching and talking to the deer who visited her in the backyard of her home.

Joan lived her last 30 years in her family home in Peachland, B.C. overlooking Okanagan Lake alongside her daughter Lynn, son-in-law Ron, and beloved grandson Taylor.  She also had the great fortune of having her sister Del join the family several years ago where they spent much time together enjoying their common interests.

 Joan was survived by her by her only child Lynn, grandson Taylor, sister Del, and brother Mel.  She was sadly predeceased by her mother Audrey, father Frank, and brothers Jim and Len.

Joan's memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew and loved her and her strength will continue to inspire the generations that follow.

A Celebration of her Life will be joyfully held at the family home in Peachland B.C. on Saturday, September the 14th at 3 p.m. Please reach out to the family or the funeral home for the address. All those who knew and loved her are welcome to attend.❤️
