It is with great sadness that the family of James Gordon Albrecht announce his passing on December 25, 2022.
Born Jan 13, 1950, in Mission, BC, Jim was the well-loved youngest of 11 children. Mischievous and mechanically adept, he started "borrowing" his siblings’ cars at 12 and was operating heavy equipment by 18. Jim worked hard but always made time for fun. He was an exceptional backhoe operator and highly regarded by friends and colleagues. In 2014 he moved from Coquitlam to Hedley, where he lived with his dog, Butch, and treasured visits from family and friends.
We remember Jim’s love of being in nature, whether fishing, hunting, camping with family and friends, or just watching the stars come out from the front porch. A cheerful and thoughtful man, Jim always had time to listen to your story. Jim was a steadfast and loving father, beloved son and baby brother, very special uncle, and dear friend.
Jim is survived by his daughters Joanne and Laura, stepson David, siblings Walter, Margaret, Doreen, and Liz, three generations of nieces and nephews, and step-grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents Wilhelm and Emma, and siblings Irma, Elsie, Leon, Rudy, Lee, and Edd.
A funeral service will be held on Sat, Mar 4 at 1:00pm at Hope Lutheran Church (3151 York St, Port Coquitlam). Burial will be at Langley Lawn Cemetery on Mar 6.
