The family of Irene Nameth is saddened to announce her passing at the age of 90 years.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by her children, Guy (Gail), Catherine, and Gordon (Rita); grandchildren, Shawn (Jen), Kelly (Jack), Jodi, David, Michael, Corey (Kylie), Jordan and Marley; great-grandchildren, Taran, Jaxon, Jade and Braiden; siblings, Liz, Joe, and Victor.
She is predeceased by husband, Andrew and siblings, Julia, Annie, George and Steve.
Irene was born on a farm in Saskatchewan where later, near there, she began her teaching career in a one room schoolhouse in 1951. In the summer of 1960, Irene and family moved to Keremeos where she taught until her retirement in 1996.
Irene was passionate about her community and her many interests including travel, line dancing, singing and music, serving for years as president of the South Similkameen Singers and Bell Ringers. Golfing, softball, swimming, community volunteering and spending time with friends fulfilled her life. Mom filled her life daily with what she loved.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
