Gordon Peter Ratzlaff

We are saddened to announce that Gordon Peter Ratzlaff passed away on August 6, 2023, at the age of 72 years at home in West Kelowna, BC.

Gordon will be remembered and sadly missed by his son, Jason Ratzlaff; stepdaughters, Tara Cookson and Shauna Cookson and their mother, Debbie Ratzlaff. He was sadly predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer Ratzlaff.

Born in Calgary, Alberta, Gordon moved to Kelowna in his early twenties with his then wife, Christa. He started working for Inland Gas in 1974, and then joined his uncle Bernie Ratzlaff with “Marwest Contracting” in 1986, where he continued his career until his retirement.

In Kelowna, Gordon and Christa welcomed their two children, Jason and Jennifer. Later on, after separating from Christa, Gordon met Debbie, with whom he shared 25 years of marriage. He also became stepfather to Debbie’s daughters, Tara and Shauna. Although Gordon and Debbie separated four years ago, they remained friends until his passing.

Gordon was an avid golfer. He joined Gallaghers Canyon golf course when it opened in 1980 and remained a member there until two years ago. He truly enjoyed early morning tee times with his golf buddies and the time shared together.

Gordon, you will be missed.
