Glenn Simpson Obituary

Glenn Simpson, also known to many as Gumpy, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on June 27, 2022, at age of 69.

He was born in Regina SK but spent most of this life in the Okanagan Valley.   He spent most of his days building and creating beautiful items out of wood.  He was always making something, or he was always helping someone with something.  If he wasn’t creating something, he was helping with his Grandchildren.   He was always there for the daily school pick up or drop off, a Dairy Queen treat, and ready with a $20 bill in his pocket to give away to help fulfill a childhood dream or wish.  The children will always remember the pockets & fishbowl full of candy treats, and the freezie treats before dinner.   He always had a smile for the kids, and he would do anything for any of us, no matter how small or large the task was.  Dad, Gumpy, Grandpa always answered the call.

Glenn will always be loved and missed by his wife Mary, his children Meagan (Drew), Amber (Dennis), Cleave (Cindy).   He will always be Gumpy to Addison, Ceili, Cammie and Blakely, Grandpa to Derek, Taylor & Kristoffer and Great Grandpa to Grey.  Glenn was predeceased by his parents and one brother.  He is also survived by and will be missed by his sister Gail (Bill) and his brother Al (Rejane).

Our family will be hosting our own private Celebration of life for Gumpy when the time feels right.   We love him and we miss him more than words can describe already.  He was the jack of all trades, the master of none, he was always there when we needed him.   He leaves a large gap in our lives.  We will live on with the happy memories of our Gumpman.
