The memories of our father take us to our roots as we reflect on all the stories of his past. His early days as a young man were filled with responsibility when he started working in the logging industry to help support his family, at a time in history when living was much harder from today and more difficult in so many ways.

With 6 children, our father had his work cut out for him.  But he rose to the challenge with grace and determination, instilling in each of us an unwavering work ethic that has served us well. As a skilled craftsman and inventor, he built everything with his hands and was always there to fix whatever needed fixing.

Our father's "tough love" approach was not always easy to accept, but we now recognize the wisdom it imparted. His past experiences shaped his present, and his guidance helped us navigate challenging times in our lives.

We will miss the many patio conversations as we sat with him in the backyard in Sechelt or West Kelowna where we listened to his adventurous boating, fishing, and hunting expeditions.   He told each story with excitement and passion as if he had just returned from the adventure.  Not to be forgotten the group of friends that were closely knit into the stories, and in reality, they were the highlight of the days spent together.

Our father married twice in his lifetime and was fortunate enough to have spent time with two amazing women.  Johanna loved and cared for him up to his very last day relentlessly.  There are no words to express our appreciation for her devotion to him over all 40 years of marriage.

Each of us has our special memories of our father, I will cherish the moments that we shared with our father during his final days the laughter, tears, music, and his smile in knowing we were there for him.

We will miss you DAD… but we will remember, “Those we love don’t go away, they sit beside us every day”!

All our love…… missing you every day as our journeys continue.
