With great sadness, we share the passing of Eva Ernestine Roper (Argitos), born April 26th, 1927, in Vancouver.
After attending college, Ernestine met and married the love of her life, her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Preston Roper (Sask). They resided on Brookmere Street in Burquitlam for 25 years, raising their 2 adopted children, Raymond and Vicki, until moving to Kelowna in 1986. They soon settled into their 2nd permanent home in Sunrise Village for 28 memorable years together.
They enjoyed traveling abroad, camping, golfing, and time spent with family and dear friends. At both 90 years old, Ken & Ernestine together moved into Brookhaven in West Kelowna in Oct of 2017. After Ken’s passing on September 24th, 2018, Ernestine moved in with her daughter Vicki in 2020, living comfortably and well cared for 4.5 more years.
She peacefully passed away at home at the age of 97, on June 1st, 2024, with her daughter and grandchildren by her side. She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Roper; her parents, Ernest Jon Argitos and Eva June Argitos (nee Loye); siblings, Jon Argitos, Katherine (Taylor), and Marjorie (Cashen); and nephew, Scott (Taylor).
She leaves behind her son, Ray (Maria); daughter Vicki; grandchildren, Ashleigh (Rob), Paige, Chase, Brandy (Jim), and Danielle (Travis); great-grandchildren, Cheyene, Sierra, Sophia, Griffith, and Macey; and GG grandson, Phoenix. Ernestine will forever be fondly remembered by her immediate family, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and lifelong cherished friends.
