Ernest Jeffrey Watson

It is with great sorrow that the family of Jeff Watson announce his sudden passing at high noon on May 27th, 2023.

"You died on a Saturday morning..."

Gone far too soon, he joins his mother Merna Watson, his father-in-law Bryan Haywood, his son Zachary Watson, and his father Ernie Watson on the sweet other side.

Left behind to mourn are his wife Donna Watson, daughter Olivia (Kurt) Miller, mother-in-law Lois Haywood, sisters Vicky Flasha, Grace (Jim) Clark, Laura (Tom) Gibos, and Jane Kenyon; brothers-in-law Gord Flasha and Kirk Kenyon; special friends Martin, Jack, Buckwheat, Corey, and Rob; as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends innumerable.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, he moved his young family to Westbank, BC in 1994. A highly skilled tinsmith, he worked in the sheet metal trade for 44 years. Outside of work, Jeff was a die hard Yankees and Oilers fan, loved Christmas, movies, music, star-gazing, having campfires, riding his motorcycle, going down to the local for a beer, and was a total Trekkie. He was quite the amateur English professor and poet, and "worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oil or clay. It was his true medium, a master."

Jeff's unique sense of humor and outlook on life had a lasting impact on friends, family, and all who met him. He pulled no punches, lived his life unapologetically, and always found a way to think positive and "count backwards".

Jeff, you are relieved.

A celebration of life will be held at Jeff's favourite pub, Neighbours, on Saturday, July 8th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Appies will be served, and there will be an informal service where those who wish to are encouraged to say a few words, share a memory, or tell a story about dad. Please join us in remembering the legendary Jeff Watson.
