Derek Joseph Easton

Derek’s family is heartbroken to announce that he passed away at the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna. Derek was surrounded by his family in his last days.

Derek will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by his wife Valerie, daughters Gillian and June (Cameron), as well as 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Derek and his family immigrated from England to Canada in 1967 in search of a better life and new adventures. He was a jack of all trades from general labourer, carpenter, mechanic, mine worker and finally, his dream job of caretaker at Bible Camps. Derek loved being outdoors from hunting, fishing, or just working on projects. His greatest love was spending time with his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure than watching and playing with his grandkids and great-grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by all, but his outgoing personality will live on in all our hearts.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Westbank Bible Chapel, 2412 Apollo Rd, West Kelowna, BC V4T 1P6.
