Charles passed away very peacefully, at home, in his big chair Thursday, July 24, 2025 after a very short battle with an aggressive cancer.
Born in Kenora, Ontario and raised in the Red Lake area. He moved to Maple Ridge with his family after high school graduation in 1970. Married in 1979, he leaves behind Bev Greenwell wife for 45 years, son Jeremy (Melissa), daughter Sherryl and 3 grandchildren Dylan, Mia and Isabella.
Charlie taught in Mission School District for 25 years before ‘retiring’ in 2003. After years teaching regular secondary classes, he ended his career working with alternate classes and placing special needs kids into work experience.
Charlie ‘retired’ to purchase a hay and sheep ranch in Princeton, and together with wife Bev, Happy Hollow Farm raised purebred Suffolk sheep, selling breeding stock across Canada and alfalfa/grass Hay to locals and to the coast.
Over the years Charles was very active with hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, canoeing and biking. The outdoors was his passion. He also had a penchant for bridge, helping to start a very active bridge club in Princeton.
A Celebration of Life will be held Aug 20, 2025 in the Princeton Legion Hall, 170 Bridge St, Princeton, BC beginning at 1 pm. Refreshments will be served after.
