Celastino Liberatore Obituary

Celastino ‘Tino’ Robert Liberatore

August 19, 1927 - February 10, 2022

Tino was born August 19, 1927, to Luigi and Lucia (Schulli) Liberatore in Princeton, BC. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years Lila (Smith), his son Brian, his sisters Lena (LaValley), Louise (Hodgins) and his parents. Tino will be greatly missed by his son Lenard (Shannon) Liberatore, daughter Tina (Tom) Kerr, his grandchildren Sarah (Justin) Antonick, Deidre Kerr, Amy (Kevin) Blank, Eric (Mary Sue) Kerr, Kiel (Riley) Nikic, Katie (Kyle) Stefanyk, Dillon Mervyn, and his nine great grandchildren Avery and Brendan Antonick, Addison and Macy Blank, Camden and Weston Kerr, Jack and Paisley Stefanyk, and baby Nikic. Tino spent his childhood years in the coal mining community of Blakeburn, BC where he developed his passion for hockey, baseball, hunting, and fishing. After his family moved to Princeton, BC he continued to actively play competitive hockey and baseball well into his adult years and became an avid curler and a founding member of the Princeton Curling Club. Tino also gave back to the local sports community through coaching and volunteer work. Tino was well known in the Princeton logging industry for his vast knowledge and outstanding work ethic. He worked as a faller and Cat operator for many years with Currie and Sons Logging. Also, he was a man of many talents beyond logging and well known for his amazing carpenter and cabinet building skills. Tino loved to spend time with his family and friends camping, hunting, and fishing and always made time to help anyone in need with his vast skill set and endless energy. His family will always remember him as “Papa”, the rock who supported the family. He was a mentor, teacher, and role model and will continue to guide us forever. His family will be planning a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Tino would appreciate donations be made to Princeton Community Services.
