It is with great sorrow that the family announces the sudden passing of our dear Auntie Carol.
Carol will be sadly missed by her family as well as many friends and acquaintances across Canada and the United States, who will feel this great loss. Carol was an extraordinary woman who had such a positive impact on the people around her and will be deeply missed. She was kind and generous, always willing to listen and try to help those she cared about. Her love for clothes apparent as she was always beautifully dressed. Even when she was gardening, packing up her house or doing household chores.
Carol was born and raised on a farm in Squam Bay where she participated in 4-H, rode her horse, swam in the creek, and helped around the farm. She moved to Kamloops and started her career with BC Tel. Her entire career was spent working at BC Tel & Telus, working all over Canada as well as a short time in Indonesia. After retirement she remained friends with many of her coworkers. Carol spent time volunteering for Hospice and eventually working for Central Okanagan Hospice. She also worked for CBD and made friends there.
Carol loved her cats and indeed, all animals. She would be so pleased that Charlie has taken Simba. She was a fabulous hostess and an amazing cook. She loved to entertain so many dinner parties were enjoyed by her family and friends. Carol also enjoyed decorating her home for every occasion throughout the year. Her favourites were Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Carol was pre-deceased by her parents, Don and Klara Cope, her brother Sid Cope and sister Dona Pawloff. She leaves behind her niece Pat, whom she loved dearly, plus other nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. She also leaves behind Charlie Bernard, whom she remained close to after they separated, plus her friend Neil and his dog Amigo, to mourn her passing.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kelowna SPCA for the Pet Survivor Care Program, which was very close to Auntie Carol’s heart. For more information, please visit their website: https://spca.bc.ca/locations/kelowna/
