Carol Mae Allan

Carol went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, 31 January, 2023, at the age of 89 years.

She was the beloved wife of James Herbert Allan for 68 years; mother to Glenn (Sheila) of Slave Lake, AB, Brenda (Rob) of Okanagan Falls, BC, and Greg (Aliceson) of Langley, BC; ‘Grandy’ to Meagan of  Langley, BC, Krista (Jordan) of Edmonton, AB, Michael (Brianda) of Victoria, BC, and Serena (Kyle) of Slave Lake, AB; ‘Great Grandy’ to Cora and Mira of Slave Lake, AB, and Henri of Edmonton, AB.

Oh, how she loved her children and grandchildren. Carol loved them fiercely. Her family was everything to her.

She is survived by siblings, Stan (Betty) Crowshaw, of Grand Prairie, AB, and Anna Neilson of Chilliwack, BC, and was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Lawrence Crowshaw, and younger brother Brian Crowshaw. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews across Canada.

Carol met Jim in Montreal when she worked as a stenographer for the military. Jim was this strapping young man; newly enlisted in the Army when he caught her eye.

They married on 1 July, 1954, and started their adventure together moving across Canada as Jim’s career dictated, before settling in Ladner when Jim retired in 1979. They spent many years in Ladner and Cloverdale before their move to Summerland, and then finally settling in Westbank in 2005.

Carol was a very devout Christian along with Jim and she loved the Lord with all her heart. They were members of Summerland Baptist Church for many years and most recently worshipped at Peachland Baptist Church.

Carol will be missed by many dear friends and family.
