Carmel Marie (Ferreri) Racicot

It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Carmel Racicot in the early morning of October 30, 2022, with her daughter by her side at the amazing age of 99 years.

Carmel was sadly predeceased by her loving husband Nelson in 1999, dear son Gary in 1994, parents Angelo and Josephine Ferreri, siblings Frank, Robert, Mary, and Agnes, niece Jeannie, and precious friend Doug Anderson. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Judy, grandchildren Lance, Landon, Lane, and Lacey, great granddaughter Adriana, and daughter in law Susan.

Carmel will be forever remembered by Brian Lang, Christine Conlon, Joe Maclean, Linda Gunn, Stu Edgar, Edith Robinson, Shirley Telfer, Joyce Evans, neighbours Marg and Ruth, long time friend and hairdresser Lorna Hyde.

Nieces Adelina Aquino Ethier and Angie Rochon, nephew Jim Aquino, as well as numerous friends and neighbours.

Carmel loved her family and devoted her entire life to giving them care and devotion. She loved to cook, read, garden, and socialize with friends, usually playing Cribbage. She especially loved to laugh.

Carmel was born in Cochrane Ontario August 15th, 1923.She married the love of her life Nelson in 1946, moved to Rouyn Noranda Quebec in the early sixties and then in 1979 Carmel, Nelson and Gary moved to beautiful Penticton BC to be with their daughter and sister Judy. They enjoyed many enjoyable retirement years in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.

Carmel fought a difficult battle with cancer until the end.  She was a strong lady and will be extremely missed. Judy would like to extend a sincere thank you to Linda Gunn and to the nurses on the palliative 6th floor of Penticton Regional Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion they gave her.

There will be a Memorial Service at Providence Funeral Home, 1258 Main Street, Penticton, BC, on Friday, December 9 at 11:30 A.M.
