The family of Tony Stard is saddened to announce his passing on February 22, 2023, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 86 years.
Tony will be missed by his son Rob; brothers, Ron and John; sister Betty Anne; his grandchildren, and many other family members of the Gardner, Labelle, Gladu, and Stard families. He is predeceased by his first wife, Ada, in 1996, then found love again in Eleanor, who passed away in 2016; stepson Dale; and sisters Vera and Anne.
Tony was born in Nelson, BC, but work took him many places, including South America. He was a miner for 16 years, as well as a foreperson and supervisor for many major dam projects, road building and tunneling. He was a union man, and a hard worker. When he semi-retired, he chose to spend his nights working at the local grocery store and enjoyed keeping it spotless.
Most of all, Tony was a loving father, who will be deeply missed. At his request, there will be no service.
“The greatest gift I ever had, came from Heaven… I call him Dad.”
