Anthonius Hubertus DeJonge passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024, at the age of 92 years.
He will be remembered and sadly missed by his children, Richard (Lyndsay) deJonge of Penticton, BC, and Deborah (Ray) Neale of Saskatoon, SK; granddaughter, Samantha (Curtis) Butcher of Saskatoon, SK; and his brother, Jan (Lyda) deJonge of Alkmaar, Holland. Sadly predeceased by Katheline Frances DeJonge, his loving wife of 57 years; and parents, Albert and Maria deJonge.
Dad went by 'Tom', and he came to Canada from Alkmaar, Holland in 1951 at the age of 20 years. He soon became a carpenter by trade and met Mom and married in 1956. Tom was involved in many large construction projects in his career. One of the most important being his building of our house in Port Alberni, BC. Upon retirement, Mom and Dad moved to the Okanagan, where they enjoyed their final years together.
A private family graveside service will take place in the summer of 2024 at Westbank Cemetery, West Kelowna, BC.
