Mina Keddy Obituary

After a lengthy illness, Mina Keddy passed away on February 14, 2019 at Kelowna Memorial Hospital.

Mina was born in Edmonton but grew up in Kamloops with her adoptive parents, Reid and Frances McGill. She spent time in Montreal before eventually moving to Kelowna in the 60’s. Mina was the Knox Mountain Hill Climb Queen in it’s heyday. She worked for Tom McKinnon Realty for many years. She spent the last 25 years working for Okanagan Chrysler Jeep Dodge who were very generous when she could no longer work. Mina was a caregiver to Patrick Melan until his passing. Mina found her biological Mother and family in the USA, and they visited often.

Mina was passionate about her animals, from her Hanivarian horse to her dogs and cats or any animal in need. She loved her friends, dice games on Saturdays and home cooking on Sundays. Mina provided a haven for many people who were down on their luck, or just needed a place to stay. In the end her neighbours and close friends were her company and always kept an eye out for her.

She was predeceased by her Mother; Francis McGill, Father; Reid McGill, Husband; Jack Keddy, Biological Mother; Norma Mickleberry and Step-father; Jack Mickleberry. Mina will be missed by her Brother; Neil McGill of Surrey, BC, Cousin; Neil McGill of Kelowna, Brothers; Ron and Dennis Mickleberry of Bothwell, Washington, as well as many extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM Sunday April 28, 2019 at 2190 Saucier Road, Kelowna.
