Marsha King Obituary

Marsha Judith King passed on Saturday, January 19th in the early am. Marsha was born on April 7th, 1949 leaving us on January 19th, 2019.

For many of you that knew this beautiful lady, you will know by what I am writing, what a beautiful lady Marsha was. For those of you that didn’t know Marsha, you will be as sad as we all are for such a huge loss to our Community.

Marsha was a strong “Okanagan Woman” but also a gentle, kind, giving and loving lady. She loved her family more than words can describe, her Children and their Spouses, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren were her “meaning” of living a fulfilled life. She loved her Community and loved to be involved in anything that she believed in. She played a major role and was honorably recognized by the Community for being part of the Self Government Working Group. She was an Elder, belonging to the Elders Group, contributing to Elders Policies and Terms of Reference. She worked in Vineyards and for many years she worked at Pine Acres Home.

Marsha had many passions; crosswords, crafts, beading, making jewelry and painting. Marsha was talented and was recognized for her artistic creativeness, she is known throughout the Okanagan and the Community for her one piece of art plaque that is displayed on many business walls at Synyata’n Shopping Centre. Her art plaque meant “A Busy Gathering Place”, which truly reflected her vision of Synyata’n Shopping Center, to date it’s almost impossible to find a parking spot. Marsha’s signature on all her artwork had three dots . . . which meant, “I Love You” how beautiful Marsha.

For many of you that knew Marsha, you  were “Sweetie” she didn’t call you by name just “Sweetie”, which came with a huge hug. That was Marsha’s way of saying “I love you and so nice to see you”. It was truly an honour to be the receiver of her love. If she called you “Good People” this was also an honour.

With our passing of Marsha, she leaves behind her Children; Gordon Pierre, Dolores Ellingboe, Mickey (Nicole) Werstuik, and Lena King (Martin Zenuik), Grandchildren; Cole, Lance, Crystal, Adrianna, Sage, Wade, Aja and Kahlin, Great-Grandchildren; Emily, Rhyla and April as well as many extended family members and friends.

In respect to the family and Community, please take a moment of silence for our “Huge Loss of Marsha King”.

We will forever miss you Marsha, you will remain in our hearts as we did yours, but it is now time for you to “paint the sky”, have some Cowboy Coffee and rest your precious little self at your paradise on your beach, we will one day meet again our little “Sweetie” . . .
