MARILYN FAY MCDONALD
1947 - 2018

We are very sad to announce that Marilyn McDonald passed away on September 2, 2018 in Kelowna, BC at the age of 71. Marilyn passed away peacefully in the presence of her family and loved ones.

Marilyn was born on July 31st 1947 in South Ohio, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia. Marilyn was 1 of 11 children born to Lenard & Thelma Hazelton. Life in Nova Scotia was filled with fun and banter despite the financial challenges that came with providing for such a large family. The Hazelton’s wanted to give their children a better life and made the decision to move their family to Elko, BC in 1964 where Marilyn soon found employment at the local café. In 1975 Marilyn met the love of her life Darrell in Kamloops BC and they were married on August 10, 1981. They had a wonderful and prosperous life together, renovating and flipping homes while living in Pritchard, Princeton & Greenwood and finally retiring in Westbank BC.

Marilyn and Darrell’s blended family include 5 children, 11 Grand Children & 19 Great Grand Children.

A special thank you from the family to the staff at Lakeview Lodge for the exceptional care they provided to Marilyn over the past 3 years. The McDonald & Hazelton families will be forever grateful for your caring spirits and dedicated service to Marilyn. Thank you.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 29thst from 11-1pm at the Prestige Beach House Hotel located at 1675 Abbott St, Kelowna BC.
