Leigh was born on March 28, 1955, in Vanderhoof, BC. She lost her battle with cancer on December 30, 2011, at the Kelowna General Hospital. Leigh passed away peacefully with her precious daughter Bailey, the light of her life, at her side. Her spirit was strong until the end and she really enjoyed the visits in the hospital from her many friends. Leigh is survived by her daughter Bailey and her brother Robert MacDonald. She is predeceased by her mother Gladys MacDonald and brother Scott. Leigh was an amazing woman. She was involved in the equestrian communities of Calgary, Vancouver and Kelowna for most her life where she worked tirelessly. Her students adored her. She gave them life skills as well as horsemanship lessons. Leigh enjoyed life to the fullest and treasured the time spent with family and friends as well as her many students. Leigh was known for her giant heart and generosity to all. To know her was to love her, so she will be greatly missed. A service to celebrate Leigh's life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday,January 15,2012 at St. Andrews Anglican Church, 4619 Lakeshore Road, Kelowna. Friends are invited to join together for a potluck lunch after the service in the Clubhouse at the Kelowna Riding Club, 3745 Gordon Drive. In lieu of flowers you might consider a donation to the "Bailey Payne Education Fund" or the charity of your choice.
