Deborah Shumborski Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Deborah Ann Shumborski in Peachland, BC at the age of 47.

Deborah's origins started with strong roots in Texas but blossomed through all of her teenage years and adult life in the Okanagan Valley. She graduated from George Pringle Secondary in 1990 with honors and was on the coveted, principals list. She earned her college degree in Business Administration and spent the next decade working her way up the ranks, eventually becoming a senior property administrator for a large commercial real estate company. She had a proficient knowledge in administrative structure along with exceptional organizational, communicative, and process-orientated skills, making her a valued asset to those she worked with. Despite a lifetime fear of swimming, she completed a swimming course in 2019 and earned her certificate. She worked hard through all her challenges and found ways to keep going even when the odds were stacked against her.

Deb had a passion for summer. She loved the lake, beach and our scalding hot summers. She was an animal lover at heart but adored her canine friends the most and shared an extremely close relationship with her beloved pooch Brandy for 15 years. Incredibly loyal, Deb had a heart of gold, and was very generous to those around her. She would always treat those she cared about, and never expected anything in return. Even the smallest gestures sent her way would make her light up with passion and excitement. One to always live for the moment in front of her, she approached life with a vigor despite chronic health problems.

She had a very calm demeanor and inviting personality. Curious and always willing to listen, she became a wonderful communicator and someone you could always count on for support. A wide range of interests in pop culture made it easy to frequently hear her busting a gut with her distinctive, inviting laughter. An avid reader, she would finish books in a day and even read every book in a small library.

Deborah was predeceased by: Her father Andrew as well as her beloved dog, Brandy, who brought her joy and happiness throughout their entire life together. She will be dearly missed by: Her dedicated and loving mother, Mary, brothers Isaac and Jacob, all of whom she shared a close, daily relationship with.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
