Charlotte Ann Hassell passed away on December 15, 2019 at the age of 85 years.
Ann will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her four sons; Tim (Judy), Jamie (Leslie), Chris (Mandi), Scott, grandchildren; Danielle, Courtney, Madison, Hayden, Braedy, Caitlin, Tyler, and Trenton.
Ann was born July 29, 1934 in Sioux Lookout Ontario. Her family moved to Surrey B.C. in 1946 where she met and married Donald Michael Hassell from Surrey in 1956 in New Westminster, BC. Ann was working at Safeway doing payroll before her and Don started their family. She soon became a mother, homemaker, and bookkeeper for Don’s excavating business. She was very close to both sides of their families, always doing things together with them.
Don and Ann bought a summer cabin in Tulameen the summer of 1976 and not long after, brothers and sisters from both sides of their families had cabins there and soon after that their boys all had their own places there. It became a special place to them.
Don and Ann were in the process of moving there full time to enjoy their retirement when Don was taken suddenly in an accident on Dec 16, 1997. Ann made Tulameen her permanent home after Don’s death and became a regular fixture at everything that goes on in the Tulameen community. She loved to play card games, crossword puzzles, eating out at the Trading Post, having visits with friends and shopping. She was a favorite at social events because of her eagerness and sense of humour.
There will be a Memorial Service at the Kingdom Hall, 72 Ridgewood Avenue in Princeton on Saturday, December 28 at 2:00 pm.
