Shirley Mae Jollymore (nee Causey) passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at her home on April 21, 2024, at the age of 91 years.
All who knew and loved Shirley would agree that the song, “I Did It My Way” would best describe this vivacious lady. Dancing at every opportunity, she even taught line dancing. Friends and family were never forgotten. Shirley was always making time for lengthy phone calls. When hosting her epic social gatherings that only Shirley Jollymore could exhibit, she would always ensure everyone was having a fabulous time. She would open a can of beans for supper in the 50’s, but after taking gourmet cooking lessons at Durham College, her dinner parties hit another level of excellence.
Shirley will be missed with love by her children, Paul (Kim) Jollymore, and Twyla Jollymore; grandchildren, Liam Jollymore, Willy Jollymore, Ashlea MacDonald, Kye Perez, and Keelan Gonzales-Perez; and great-grandchildren, Lily MacDonald, Ronin Lawrence, and Jaeger Lawrence.
At Shirley’s request, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Shirley’s honour would be appreciated.
